From May 22nd to 24th, 2024, the "26th National Bridge Academic Conference" was held in Guangzhou, which was jointly organized by the Bridge and Structural Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society (hereinafter referred to as: the Bridge Branch), Guangdong Provincial Communications Group Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Provincial Highway Society. Shang Chunming, the vice chairman of the China Civil Engineering Society, Zhang Qiansong, the second-class inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Transportation, Xiao Rucheng, the chairman of the Bridge and Structural Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, and Deng Xiaohua, the Party secretary and chairman of Guangdong Provincial Communications Group Co., Ltd., delivered speeches respectively. Sun Bin, the secretary-general of the Bridge and Structural Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, presided over the opening ceremony.

The honorary editor-in-chief of the Prestress Technology journal, Academician Xiang Haifan, won the 2024 Fan Lichu Outstanding Bridge Book Award.

Professor Sun Limin, the editor-in-chief of the Prestress Technology journal, and Professor Ge Yaojun, a member of the editorial board, respectively delivered presentations at the conference.

This annual meeting invited 11 experts such as Academician Deng Wenzhong and Academician Zheng Jielian to give presentations at the conference. Nearly 600 engineering technicians and teachers and students from civil engineering colleges and universities from construction, scientific research, design, construction, supervision and other units participated in this meeting. The conference proceedings included 224 contributed papers, and 87 academic reports in 7 parallel sub-conference venues were organized. 

The "Prestress Technology" journal of Tongji University, as a co-organizer, actively promoted the convening and publicity of the conference.
