Abstract:This paper introduces the design and construction of the Waitaki Harbour Bridge from the aspects of cable safety factor, fatigue design and finite element analysis design of the pylon.
2002, 6(S02):13-15+28. DOI: 10.59238/j.pt.HVM2002.02.003
Abstract:The structural form in which the prestressing tendons are placed outside the beam cross-section is called externally prestressed concrete (EPC). It has developed rapidly at home and abroad in recent years and is now widely used in building and bridge design and strengthening. This paper introduces the development status, structural characteristics, main theories and design methods of EPC, with a view to promoting its wider application.

Abstract:This paper introduces the content, usage, applicable conditions and applications of several commonly used prestress strengthening methods.
2002, 6(S02):19-23. DOI: 10.59238/j.pt.HVM2002.02.005
Abstract:This paper introduces the advantages, design calculation and construction method of the high-efficiency prestress strengthening method for reinforced concrete beams, as well as its successful application in engineering projects.
2002, 6(S02):24-28. DOI: 10.59238/j.pt.HVM2002.02.006
Abstract:This paper introduces the application of externally prestressed structure technology in several projects. The results show that the technology has remarkable advantages in the maintenance, strengthening and design of building and bridge structures.

Abstract:Based on a strengthening project, this paper discusses the application of external prestressing technology in the strengthening of concrete waffle beam-slab structures, and proposes a practical and feasible prestress strengthening scheme and corresponding design calculation method. The successful practice provides useful technical reference for similar projects and promotes the development of external prestressing technology.
2002, 6(S02):32-33+41. DOI: 10.59238/j.pt.HVM2002.02.008
Abstract:Due to long-term disrepair and the development of transportation, many bridges have begun to lose their original load-bearing capacity and become dangerous bridges under the influence of increased traffic density and tonnage. This paper describes the method of using external prestressing technology to strengthen dangerous bridges so as to restore or exceed their original traffic function.
