Abstract:The arch bridges built around the 1990s, due to the fact that most of the suspension rods of the arch bridges were manufactured and installed on the construction site during construction, have problems such as small embedded pipe sizes and varying degrees of anti-corrosion in structural design. Therefore, many arch bridges need to replace the suspension rods after 5-10 years. However, due to high navigation requirements, some special bridges need to limit the height of the beam bottom, and the existing anchor sleeves of the cables are too long to meet the requirements. This article focuses on the above issues and optimizes the length and extrusion force of the anchorage section of the extruded cable. It is concluded that the cable can meet the requirements of anchorage efficiency when the anchorage length of the extruded anchor sleeve is optimized to 67% of the original length and the expansion taper is 4 °. And the effectiveness and feasibility of this plan have been demonstrated through experiments
