Abstract:The material hardness of prestressed steel strands is not specified in the domestic and foreign steel strand product standards and prestressed structure design and construction specifications. In fact, it must match the hardness of the anchor clamp appropriately, and controlling the appropriate hardness can ensure that the teeth of the clamp bite into the surface of the steel strand during anchoring, and the wedging effect of the clamp can be achieved. Recently, it has been found that the clamping plates in some projects have poor engagement with steel strands, which has attracted the attention of the anchor standard revision group. Therefore, after investigation and inspection, it was found that the hardness of the steel strands currently produced and supplied is relatively high, indicating that this is the main cause of unstable anchoring. This article will publish the research results and provide suggestions on both steel strands and anchor clips for the attention of all relevant parties in the prestressing industry (owners, design, construction, product production, quality inspection, etc.)
