Abstract:Due to the significant characteristics of active reinforcement, deep reinforcement, flexible layout, fast construction, and good economy, prestressed anchor cables have been widely used in the reinforcement of rock and soil in the Three Gorges Reservoir area and geological disaster management engineering. According to the national standards and relevant industry norms for prestressed anchor cables, basic tests, creep tests, acceptance tests, and long-term monitoring of the anchor cables should be carried out according to different stages of design and construction, as well as the geological conditions. Based on the monitoring results, corresponding maintenance measures should be taken for the anchor cables. The paper briefly introduces the author's research achievements in monitoring prestressed anchor cables in recent years and their application in the Three Gorges Reservoir area
