Abstract:From the view of rheology, the mechanism of shotcrete support in circular roadway has been studied. Academician Liu Baochen and Professor Tao Zhenyu have made an original analysis and obtained a brilliant solution. Both theoretical analysis and engineering practice show that when the lateral pressure coefficient λ≠1, the stability of roadway is related to the axial ratio. According to the large residual strength characteristic of shotcrete after initial crack, this paper proposes to use fiber reinforced concrete as an ideal elastoplastic material. Based on the rheological properties of rock mass and the interaction between shotcrete and rock mass, the ultimate load method is used to design the supporting thickness of shotcrete in elliptical roadway and the approximate calculation formula is given. At last, an engineering example is cited to obtain satisfactory results.
