This paper firstly introduces the achievements of membrane structure in recent years with the examples of exhibition building, sports building and cultural and communication building, and discusses some problems of current membrane structure, i.e. indeterminate shapes and their determination, from tents to permanent buildings and the support of membrane - air, cords or skeleton. Finally, some views on the future development of membrane structures are presented.
