    Abstract:

In this paper, the preliminary design of the hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge with a center span of 2500m was carried out, and three types of cable-stayed suspension bridges and one type of suspension bridge were conceived. From the preliminary design results, comparing the weight of their superstructure steel, it is found that the cable-stayed suspension bridges are superior to the suspension bridges considering the size of the substructure. In addition, bending stability analysis and coupled vibration analysis were carried out for these types of bridges. The analysis results show that the bending stability of cable-stayed suspension bridges is sufficient, and its critical wind speed is higher than the critical wind speed of suspension bridges. Therefore, the authors believe that the hybrid cable-stayed suspension bridge for long-span bridges is better than the suspension bridge.
