Abstract:Due to the gap between the outer HDPE sheath and the strands of hollow steel strand cables, conventional methods of measuring cable tension are not effective for hollow steel strand cables. One method is to measure the tension of individual strands by tensioning a single strand, but it requires a significant amount of work. Alternatively, based on the principles of probability statistics, a reasonable level of confidence is set, and the sample size range is calculated. By extracting the tension of the required sample size of steel strands, the tension of the entire cable bundle can be accurately obtained. This approach reduces the workload while ensuring accurate measurement of cable tension.
